During my academic career at Wollo University, I contributed to professional training, capacity-building, outreach, and community-service initiatives for journalists, communication professionals, public-sector employees, students, and other community participants.

Drawing on my background in journalism, communication, media, and higher education, I delivered training and facilitated learning on media reporting, communication, public relations, professional ethics, crisis-related issues, public opinion, and other areas of professional and community development.

Media Reporting in Times of Conflict and Post-Conflict
Delivered training for journalists and communication workers focusing on media reporting and ethical issues in conflict and post-conflict contexts.

Communication, Public Relations & Networking
Delivered capacity-building training for public relations professionals covering communication, writing, public relations, public opinion polling, networking uses, and professional practices.

Professional Codes & Ethics for Public Servants
Contributed to capacity-building training on professional codes for public servants in South Wollo and Dessie city administrations.

Post-War Crisis Management
Delivered community-service training addressing post-war crisis management and issues related to supporting people affected by war.

Communication, Journalism, Public Relations & Public Opinion Polling
Delivered community-service training for government communication workers covering communication, journalism, public relations, and public opinion polling.

E-STEM Outreach Project
Contributed as a Project Trainer to Wollo University’s E-STEM Outreach Project, supporting the university’s community outreach and educational engagement activities.

My Contribution

My contribution combined academic knowledge with practical professional training and community engagement. I prepared and delivered learning activities for participants from different professional and community backgrounds, translating communication and media concepts into practical knowledge relevant to their work and responsibilities.

These activities also allowed me to apply my experience as an educator beyond regular university teaching through professional development, outreach, capacity building, and community-service programs.

Outcome

The training and outreach activities supported Wollo University’s broader community-service mission by extending university expertise to professionals, public institutions, students, and communities beyond the regular classroom environment.

My contributions across multiple initiatives were formally recognized through certificates of appreciation and participation issued by Wollo University and its academic and community-service units.
